The Context: A Digital Ambition at a Power Crossroads
Indonesia is currently at a critical "pump-handle moment" for its digital economy. As ASEAN’s third-largest data center market, Greater Jakarta alone anchors 307 MW of operational capacity. While the sector is forecast to triple to 800 MW by 2031, this expansion is hitting a structural "supply wall".
Regional power generation growth is forecasted below 7%, while data center electricity demand is accelerating at a ~30% CAGR. To remain competitive and break the supply wall, Indonesia will need to carefully align its ambition to deploy 500 MW of SMR capacity by 2032 with the realities of its current dependency on fossil fuel, existing grid capacity and prevailing utility frameworks.
To navigate this convergence of digital ambition and infrastructure reality, we convene an SMR developer, a regional energy policymaker, a data center specialist, and a nuclear security researcher to bridge the gap between policy momentum, technical feasibility, and the urgent energy demands of the digital frontier.
Join Earth VC and a panel of industry titans as we deconstruct the roadmap for making nuclear energy a deployable, bankable reality for Indonesia’s high-tech future.
