Visualist Night 3
what does a VJ even do? Let's flip the script on Visual Artists and as a community put us at the top of the flyer.
This is an on-going showcase and event series for all Live VJ's as well as Digital Artists across Animation, AI, and Interactive (Touch Designer Etc). as well as Curated Sync Clip Editors to explore collaboration and new formats for Visual first A/V nights.
This is primarily for artists, musicians and super fans of A/V Visual Art that are interested in actively helping produce future events and pioneer new show formats here at tiat and in th general Bay Area with a Visual First approach.
Please RSVP (you can just pay $0-1 or whatever) if you would like to attend this virtually, we had a lot of interest and zero people showed up last time . . . there's some overhead to set up a zoom session.
Tomorrow nights programming will be
1) showcase and Q/A from Stardust Stereo who uses monome controllers , processing p5 , sonic pi and Ableton for audiovisual performances. Here are links to both his most recent AV installation in Barcelona along with a few other explorations https://youtu.be/TfMPCyXtrzo?si=wEurqRmd7RTm4Wn1
https://youtu.be/qW4YUWBbBoE?si=mdaf42H73fbghMkz
2) NDI Jamming: Where we collectively R&D a new visual jazzlike collaborative "battle" format. We will discover the most fun and engaging ways in which multiple artists can co-create and take turns live by seeing eachother's compositions as sources. We see this as both a mixture of "battling and collabing" across a diversity of styles and genres of music and visual aesthetics.
The goal of this group is to find a broadly inclusive, fun and artistically ground breaking A/V format for 100-200 person shows in the near future where we can showcase a diversity of styles while maintaining a curated trajectory to a show that is thematically, sonically and visually coherent.
all proceeds will go to supplied cold drinks/snacks and raising money for Tiat.place's long term sustainability.
Contribute more if you are able to. This gallery and event space for the intersection of art and technology (tiat) is really special but needs your support to thrive!
