Mobilizing Public and Private Finance for Nature

​Natural ecosystems are the foundation of human prosperity and a sustainable planet; forests, wetlands, and coasts are crucial for responding to climate change and sustaining local communities. However, significant financial flows continue to support activities that degrade nature, threatening the achievement of the Paris Agreement's 1.5°C target and the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). 

​This year’s “Amazon COP” underscores the urgency of aligning climate and biodiversity action, recognizing that the two crises are inseparable. It highlights the need for transformative shifts in global finance and stronger international cooperation. 

​This event will bring together government representatives from Korea and other countries, financial institutions, international organizations, and civil society. Discussions will focus on integrating nature into policy and financial decision making, highlighting synergies between National Determined Contributions (NDCs) and National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs). Panelists will share success stories and challenges and explore practical solutions to channel financial flows into nature-positive investments.
