TECHNĒ Art X Tech Summit: ENTANGLED FUTURES
Art + Interpretability in the Age of Quantum Computing
An afternoon symposium and digital art experience at Hyde Park Labs. The event convenes scientists, artists, technologists, and institutional leaders to examine cultural interpretability in an era defined by quantum computing and exponential technologies.
The Symposium will culminate in a cocktail reception and curated digital art exhibition in the UChicago Science Incubator, a state-of-the-art hub for quantum, life sciences, and clean tech innovation.
PROGRAM: SUMMIT PANELS & KEYNOTES (Ticketed)
1:00 p.m. - 1:10 p.m.
Opening Remarks from TECHNĒ's Andrew Goldstein
1:10 - 2:10 p.m.
Keynote: Entangled Realities: A Quantum Artist's Journey Through Interpretability, where Libby Heaney explores how quantum systems can reframe our understanding of perception and connection.
2:10 p.m. - 2:40 p.m.
The Quantum City - David Awschalom, Liew Family Professor and Director of the Chicago Quantum Institute and Director of the Chicago Quantum Exchange will join us to highlight the rapid growth of the region's quantum ecosystem and how culture and technology evolve together.

Coffee & Networking Break
3:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Science on Display - Kevin Flavin, Director of Design and Experience at Portal Innovations, will share insights on designing environments that foster collaboration between art, science, and entrepreneurship - including the architectural and conceptual vision behind Hyde Park Labs.
3:30 p.m. - 4:20 p.m.
Constellations of Praxis - In conversation with Dr. Vanja V. Malloy, Dana Feitler Director of the Smart Museum of Art, TECHNĒ’s Andrew Goldstein explores how artists like Calder, Duchamp, and Kandinsky grappled with the radical implications of Einstein’s theory of relativity — and how their work redefined perception, space, and movement in response to the scientific revolutions of their time. Drawing on this historical analogue, the conversation turns to the present moment: how the emerging quantum paradigm may once again transform the way we see and interpret the world. Together, Malloy and Goldstein will consider what art and institutions can teach us about navigating this new Copernican revolution — and how curatorial practice might illuminate meaning amid the profound uncertainties of intelligent and quantum systems.
4:20 p.m. - 5:10 p.m.
Fireside Conversations: The Sound of the Invisible: Art, Technology, and the Architecture of Perception
Spencer Topel, CTO of Moth Quantum
Spencer Topel, artist-engineer and Chief Technology Officer of Moth Quantum, whose work bridges acoustics, computation, and perception will join TECHNĒ's Erika Knierim in conversation to consider how creative practices can make the invisible architectures of technology newly perceptible - and deeply human.
5:10 p.m. - 5:20 p.m.
