3D SCANNING WORKSHOP
Learn the fundamentals of 3D scanning using your own real physical object. In this hands-on workshop, participants will scan an object, clean and process the digital model, and learn how scanned files are prepared for 3D printing or CNC fabrication.
We’ll cover basic scanning techniques, best practices for capturing accurate geometry, and an overview of the workflow from physical object to digital file. This workshop is perfect for anyone curious about digital fabrication or reverse engineering.
Participants are encouraged to bring a small object to scan, no larger than 5 inches in width or height. Objects should be made of solid material, as soft or furry items can be difficult to capture accurately. Keep in mind that highly reflective, transparent, or shiny surfaces may not scan well and could require additional preparation steps. After registering, we’ll follow up to confirm whether your object is suitable for scanning.
