

VCS x mavalabs - Tết Feast
Xin chào bạn (hello friends)! Come join us for a lively Tết feast featuring five+ regional dishes, drinks, live music from local Viet artists, cultural games, and lots of community connection to ring in the Year of the Horse! Hosted by the Vietnamese Creative Society (VCS), mavalabs (an experimental art, food, and entertainment studio), and Welcome to Chinatown, this will be an exciting event full of comfort and joy.
Schedule:
6 PM: Doors Open
7 - 8 PM: Performances
8 - 9 PM: Karaoke or just chill :)
What a ticket gets you:
🍲 Food: Five+ traditional and creative dishes from across the Northern, Central, and Southern parts of Vietnam. Menu inspired by the fairytale behind bánh chưng (the official dish of Tết), where the emperor put out a cooking competition across Vietnam to determine his heir. Food prepared by mavalabs (they run an incredible supper club series!), Figz n Chibz (local Viet bakery), and resident chefs and bakers at VCS :)

🎶 Performances: Come hear live music from local Vietnamese artists…
🎤 Karaoke: … or be the performer yourself! No Vietnamese party is complete without some late night karaoke. Confidence, but not singing skills, required ;)
🃏 Games: Play classic Viet games like bầu cua cá cọp and tiến lên. Don’t know how to play? We’ll teach you!
🎧 Music: Live DJ music
Menu — a mix of traditional and creative dishes featuring food across regions of Vietnam! There will be both meat and vegetarian versions of each dish.
Northern Vietnam: Bánh Chưng with Pickled Vegetables (Traditional Sticky Rice Cake stuffed with Mung Bean and Pork Belly). Vegetarian version only mung bean.
Central Vietnam: Bún Bò Huế Dumplings (Marinated Beef Shank Dumplings with Chili Saté Sauce, brushed with Annato Seed Oil). Vegetarian version stuffed with oyster mushrooms.
Central Vietnam: Mì Quảng Thịt Kho Ragu (Caramelized Braised Pork with Tumeric Noodles). Vegetarian version made with braised jackfruit
Across Vietnam: Rau Muống Xào Tỏi (Stir-Fried Water Spinach)
Southern Vietnam: Chè Trôi Nước (Stuffed Glutinous Rice Balls in Syrup and Coconut Milk)
Southern Vietnam: Bánh Bò Nướng - (Pandan Honeycomb Cake)
Drinks:
