Youth Buildathon
What if your kid could learn how to build a real app — in one afternoon?
At the Let's Vibe Youth Buildathon, young people don't just learn about technology. They make things with it. Using natural language tools that handle the complex coding syntax, students focus on what actually matters: their ideas, their creativity, and solving problems they care about.
By the end of the day, every participant walks out with a working app they built themselves — something they can show their friends, use for school, or keep improving at home.
Why This Matters
By giving young people these skills today, we aren’t just teaching them a new tool; we’re giving them the 'keys' to the future job market. We believe our youth shouldn't just be users of AI—they should be the ones leading and building it. This buildathon is about turning them into the creators and leaders who will shape how this technology serves our world.
What Happens at the Event
For Youth: Small teams, supportive mentors, and hands-on guided projects that turn ideas into real, clickable apps. No coding experience needed — just curiosity.
For Parents: While the kids build, a dedicated area will be available where you'll discover practical ways AI can help with everyday family life — homework help, school projects, or even tools to help the family. You'll leave with at least one app you can use immediately.
For Everyone: A welcoming, supervised environment designed for families. This isn't passive screen time — it's purposeful creation, together.
Who's Behind This
Led by Yuna Chu and Grace Hall (product leaders and data experts), Jessica Nolin (executive coach and AI advisor with experience spanning education, luxury, and enterprise tech), and Terry Rice of Build With Them (a systems integrator and educator with a decade of teaching at NYU and General Assembly).
We also integrate age-appropriate modules on AI safety and responsible use, so families can feel confident about the tools their kids are learning.
Our Commitment
This is a social impact initiative. We're building something designed to scale — so more kids in more communities can access these opportunities.
Success looks like this:
Kids leave proud of something real they've made, parents see a new way to engage with technology as a family, and young voices start shaping how AI tools get built — not just how they get used.
