D'Alesio&Santoro + MEG: "Tension of the intangible"

​"Tension of the Intangible" è il secondo appuntamento di Binaries, il programma di lecture, seminari e workshop pensato da ATMOSFERA per la community internazionale di professionisti e appassionati di lighting design.

​Protagonista della lecture è D’Alesio&Santoro, studio indipendente fondato a Milano nel 2010 da Carlo D’Alesio e Piero Santoro. Nel 2018 lo studio ha dato vita a MEG (Mutable Efficient Growing), società di consulenza in fotobiologia applicata — disciplina che studia l’interazione tra luce e organismi viventi — sviluppando collaborazioni con dipartimenti universitari e centri di ricerca e sviluppo di grandi aziende.

​È proprio dall’incontro tra biologia, tecnologia e design che prende forma "Tension of the Intangible": una lecture che, a partire dall’esperienza progettuale di D’Alesio&Santoro, mette a fuoco temi, metodi e processi progettuali sempre più rilevanti per il futuro del lighting design.

​“Tension of the Intangible” is the second appointment of Binaries, the program of lectures, seminars, and workshops conceived by ATMOSFERA for the international community of lighting design professionals and enthusiasts.

​The lecture features D’Alesio&Santoro, the independent studio founded in Milan in 2010 by Carlo D’Alesio and Piero Santoro. In 2018, the studio founded MEG (Mutable Efficient Growing), a consultancy focused on applied photobiology — the discipline that studies the interaction between light and living organisms — establishing strong partnerships with university departments and the R&D centres of leading companies.

​It is precisely this expanded field, where biology, technology, and design intersect, that becomes the foundation of “Tension of the Intangible”: a lecture that, starting from the design experience of D’Alesio & Santoro, focuses on themes, methods, and design processes that are becoming increasingly relevant to the future of lighting design.
