Afterwork Walk @Commons Hub Brussels
What it is:
This is an "afterwork walk" proposed to encourage conversation and idea-sharing among participants. The route will be centered around the Commons Hub Brussels (CHB).
Purpose:
In addition to promoting healthy walks within Brussels, a goal is to leverage the cognitive benefits of walking—specifically to boost creativity, as supported by research
(See Psychology Today post: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/prescriptions-life/201901/taking-walk-will-boost-your-creativity-and-problem-solving).
Logistics and Theme:
The walk will cover approximately 4 to 5 km, featuring various milestones to enjoy Brussels before returning to the CHB.
The theme of this "afterwork" walk and the milestones will be Street Art and Comic Strip, exploring nice murals of Smurfs, Ric Hochet, XIII and other Belgian icons across the city center. Brussels is the undisputed capital of comics, and here the ninth art is always in the spotlight. Since 1991, the walls of the capital have been regularly adorned with new murals
Afterwards:
An optional drink + potluck dinner ("auberge espagnole") will be organized at the CHB after the walk for the interested participants. A fridge is available to store food if needed + the new “Bortier Food Market” and many other food shops are open nearby and along the route.
Facilitation:
The walk will be guided by Alain Vereecke (IT freelance - analyst, scrum master, and CHB member).
Event fee: Free, with a "conscious participation for CHB" option for the non-CHB members.
