Artist Universe: Evening Showcase of Art, Music, & Writing
Vancouver’s arts community is growing — one connection at a time.
This Sunday, March 2nd at 6:00PM, V2 presents Artist Universe, an evening of storytelling and celebration, featuring young talent in art, music, and writing. Artist Universe is more than a showcase—it’s a community gathering where artists and industry professionals come together to widen perspectives, and build relationships.
Artist Universe will feature stories told by participants of Midnight Studio, a weekend-long artist intensive where emerging artists connect and fully immerse themselves in their craft. They will take the stage to share the work they did at the intensive, and talk about defining moments in their journeys as artists.
The Structure of the Showcase
The evening will unfold in three parts, mirroring the expanding connections formed throughout the weekend intensive:
Artist Constellation – A showcase of stories from artists who shaped the weekend from the start, staying through both Saturday and Sunday.
Artist Galaxy – Second round of stories, adding new voices and dimensions, from those who joined on Sunday.
Artist Universe – Open time for the artists and the audience to mingle, enjoy complimentary snacks, and have 1-1 discussions.

Marie Dresselhuis - A singer-songwriter with an emotional and intimate sound, who also organizes music community events around Vancouver.

About Midnight Studio
Midnight Studio is a weekend-long artist intensive designed to give painters, digital artists, poets, fiction writers, producers, and musicians a space to create, collaborate, and connect. The showcase night is a reflection of their personal journey, closing off the intensive with community and sharing.
The intensive was started as an idea by two artists and friends, Illya (www.lushheartmusic.com) and Irene (www.irenezhang.ca), in collaboration with the V2 community.
V2 is an open collective of makers and builders in Vancouver. We aim to bridge people making extraordinary things across the city.
