Open Lab Spotlight: 3D Printing
A relaxed open lab featuring a working artist and 3D printing in progress.
Explore the lab, meet a maker, and see creative work in progress.
Open Lab Spotlight is a recurring special event designed to help you explore the makerspace in a relaxed way. Each Spotlight event features a working artist in the space, highlighting a particular tool, medium, or process.
This month’s Spotlight features: 3D Printing
The featured artist will be working on a 3D printing project and is available for informal questions and conversation about printers, materials, files, and workflow.
The featured artist will be working on their own project and is available for informal questions and conversation. This is an opportunity to see tools and materials in use as part of an artist’s working process, learn through observation, and get a feel for what Astro-Zombie Bio-Labs offers — without the structure of a class.
You’re welcome to come and go, look around, ask questions, or work on something of your own if you’d like. Participation is self-directed, and no prior experience is required.
This is not a class. There is no formal instruction or step-by-step guidance. The focus is exploration, curiosity, and connection.
Admission is free. If you choose to print something during the open lab, a materials fee will apply.
This event is a good fit if you:
are curious about 3D printing and want to see it in use
want to understand how files become physical objects
enjoy learning through observation and conversation
prefer a low-pressure, come-and-go creative environment
