Join us for a 36-hour hackathon exploring x402 payments — an open payment protocol for internet-native payments built for the age of AI and autonomous agents.
This event is designed to help you build real solutions to real-world problems.
We’re especially interested in projects applying x402 to areas such as: agentic commerce, paid APIs, data access, DeFi tooling, RWA services, and tokenization workflows.
Most importantly, we’re looking for teams committed to continuing beyond the hackathon.

📜 Rules & Requirements
👥 Team size: 1–5 participants
🌍 Remote participation: Allowed, but at least one team member must be on-site and present the final pitch
🤖 AI usage: Fully allowed and encouraged — we will provide Algorand AI tooling and templates
🧱 Mandatory stack: All projects must implement x402 on Algorand to qualify for prizes
Submissions will be judged on criteria such as technical sophistication, creativity, usability, value proposition, and potential ecosystem impact. While these criteria guide evaluation, all final decisions regarding winners and prize allocations remain at the Algorand Foundation’s sole discretion.
💰 Prize Pool
💵 $20,000 USDC This year, we’ve increased the prize pool nearly 4× and introduced a system designed to support builders beyond the hackathon.
⚖️ New 50/50 Prize Distribution Model
50% awarded after the hackathon
50% unlocked after completing a mutually agreed milestones
Milestones will be defined individually (e.g. launching on Algorand mainnet).
If teams choose not to pursue milestones, unclaimed funds will be reallocated to support other winning teams

📂 Project Categories
New Projects: Code must be written during the hackathon (ideation can be done beforehand)
Existing Projects: Pre-existing Web2 or Web3 projects integrating x402 on Algorand
🧠 Track 1: Agentic Commerce — $12,500
Build applications where AI agents transact over x402 on Algorand.
Examples: agents that pay for services, pay-per-use API, or agent-driven marketplaces.
New Projects
1st place— $3,000 ($1,500 awarded after the hackathon + $1,500 upon milestone completion.
2nd place— $2,000 ($1,000 awarded after the hackathon + $1,000 awarded upon milestone completion )
3rd place— $1,500 ($750 awarded after the hackathon + $750 awarded upon milestone completion.)
Existing Projects
1st place— $4,000 ($2,000 awarded after the hackathon + $2,000 awarded upon milestone completion.)
2nd place— $2,000 ($1,000 awarded after the hackathon + $1,000 awarded upon milestone completion.)
🏗️ Track 2: Infrastructure — $7,500
Build the foundational components of the x402 ecosystem
Examples: facilitators, agent wallets, developer tooling, dashboards, and libraries.
New Projects
1st place — $2,500 ($1,250 awarded after the hackathon + $1,250 awarded upon milestone completion.)
2nd place — $2,000 ($1,000 awarded after the hackathon + $1,000 awarded upon milestone completion.)
Existing Projects
1st place— $3,000 ($1,500 awarded after the hackathon + $1,500 awarded upon milestone completion.)
