About Event

This is a beginner friendly technical workshop giving an overview of how to move throughout touchdesigner, set up node networks, use operator families, and create generative artwork!

This workshop is meant for folks looking to get familiar with how to use touchdesginer to create generative artwork. Come with an eagerness to learn a new style of visual programming and leave with an understanding of touchdesigner as well as your first generative artwork!

Andrew Butcher is a computational, new media artist, and creative technologist. He is an active member of the Bay Area touchdesigner community teaching workshops in the east bay as well as at California College of the Arts as the current artist in residence.

Andrew explores how technology alters our perception of space and relation to one another, often through interactive installations, audio visual performance, and video games. His work explores themes of world building, speculative generative design, and the manipulation of scale.

Andrew uses generative software, machine learning, and custom code to explore traditional themes in art such as the perception of light, space, form, and color and how the contemporary relationship to technology transforming human experience.
