Ecology Circle Dialogue: Climate Change and AI
Ecology Circle Dialogue: Climate Change and AI
Artificial Intelligence is rapidly reshaping how we understand, manage, and respond to climate change, but it also comes with its own environmental costs. From energy-intensive data centres and water consumption to questions of responsibility and governance, the relationship between AI and climate action is complex and evolving.
The Ecology Circle Dialogue: Climate Change and AI is an interactive session designed to explore this dual reality. The event will begin with a short presentation introducing the climate impacts of AI alongside its potential to accelerate climate solutions. Participants will then engage in facilitated small-group discussions, examining different thematic areas at the intersection of climate and AI, such as energy systems, water management, climate modelling, governance, and digital sustainability.
Each group will share key insights, followed by a collective exercise to develop rapid actions and long-term pathways for climate-responsible and climate-positive use of AI.
This dialogue-driven space is designed for students, researchers, climate advocates, technologists, and innovators who are interested in critically engaging with the opportunities and challenges of AI in a climate-constrained world.
Join us to reflect, discuss, and co-create ideas for aligning digital futures with ecological responsibility.
