We are thrilled to announce a creative alliance between Soulscape and the UC Berkeley Chinese Drama Society.
In an era where technology often feels cold, we are using it to ignite the warmth of human connection. We are forging a direct path for the next generation of narrative architects. This partnership bridges the rich tradition of theater with the limitless potential of Generative AI.
We are bringing the intensity of the Soulscape Cinema Lab & Summit directly to the Berkeley campus—connecting the raw narrative power of the Drama Society with AI serving as the ultimate creative amplifier.
This is where the student becomes the director. Together, we ensure that "Soul over Slop" isn't just a philosophy; it is a practice. Join us for a hybrid session featuring a Live Workshop followed by a hands-on Creative Sprint, transforming the lecture hall into a Hollywood production studio.

The Workshop: A deep dive into "Soul over Slop." We will deconstruct the AI filmmaking workflow, moving beyond simple prompting to true cinematic direction.
The Sprint: Hands-on creation. Form teams (or work solo) to produce a short narrative piece using the latest AI video tools.
Creator's Fuel: Pizza & Drinks will be provided to keep the creative energy flowing. 🍕
Showcase & Resonance: We screen the works created on the spot. No "winners," just shared learning and feedback on what resonates.
Networking: Connect with fellow students, writers, actors, and technologists.

Note: This event is open to all students and the broader Soulscape community. No prior AI experience is required, but a passion for storytelling is a must.

Your Laptop & Charger (BYOL): Essential for the sprint.
Your Tools: Please have your own subscriptions or free trials ready for tools like Runway, Pika, Hailuo (MiniMax), Luma, or Midjourney, of your own choice.
✨ Bonus: We are working with partners to provide free generation credits for the event (Details To Be Announced), but please have your own accounts ready as backup.
