About Event

Big Screen Hack: Cannes is a global 48-hour cinematic sprint happening over the weekend before Cannes Film Festival.

The initiative is supported by IMGN & Misfit and many more sponsors yet to be announced.

Filmmakers and AI developers will team up, they'll make a short film in 48 hours or build creative tech solutions. We'll reveal the theme on Friday 9th May at 7pm and final submissions submitted by 7pm on Sunday 11th May. Expect a full weekend of writing, shooting, generating, editing, coding and shipping! An industry jury will shortlist our finalists.

It is open to in-person and remote teams, and if you are solo and looking for a team, we will pair you up on the day. If you want to enter as a solo artist - that's also fine.

In the lead-up, there will be London meet-ups where you can meet collaborators, get familiar with sponsor tools, and warm up for the main event. You can join those online too and recordings will be available.

Sponsor and tech tools and compute credits are available throughout the run up and weekend, mentors will be on hand, and the winning films will go on to screen in Cannes during festival week.

If you want to make something ambitious, fast, and a little bit wild, this is the one to jump into.
