​We often talk about building ethical AI, but too often the focus stays on fixing what’s broken: bias, fairness, harm reduction. In this session, we’ll go deeper. What happens when we start by asking: Do we need this at all? Who is this for? And what are we actually reinforcing?

​In this talk, Liisa-Maija "Lissu" Malinen will share her thinking on values-based AI — what it means to design systems that reflect what really matters. These ideas take shape in real decisions: what we choose to build, how we build it, and when we recognise it’s time to pause. It’s an invitation to slow down, reflect, and create with care.

​Liisa-Maija "Lissu" Malinen is the founder of AI With Values, where she helps organizations design AI with purpose, integrity, and long-term impact. She brings a calm, values-led perspective rooted in Nordic principles of equity and sustainability. With a background in sustainability and learning design, she guides teams to slow down, reflect, and create technology that truly serves.
