The 2026 AI for Greater Good Challenge launches a global, open call for ideas, teams, and solutions that use artificial intelligence to create measurable positive impact for people, communities, and the planet.
As AI systems increasingly shape economic opportunity, environmental outcomes, and public decision-making, this challenge asks a simple but urgent question: How can we design AI that advances the public good responsibly, inclusively, and at scale?
This kickoff session introduces the 2026 AI for Greater Good Challenge, outlining its mission, focus areas, evaluation principles, and participation pathways. It marks the starting point of a year-long initiative that will bring together students, researchers, practitioners, and organizations to co-create solutions across high-impact domains such as climate, health, education, equity, and civic systems.
