Clean Energy Deep Tech Across Borders - Open Registration
Europe Meets the Bay Area A morning of honest conversation, real cases, and working connections
Climate Week SF
What this is
The transition to clean energy is no longer only an environmental argument. It is an economic and geopolitical one. The cost of solar has fallen 99.7% since 1958. Fossil-fuel supply chains are becoming more visibly a liability. The cheaper option is already here. What remains unsolved is the deployment gap.
Europe and Canada are producing serious deep tech hardware, validated technologies in energy storage, industrial decarbonization, grid hardware, circular materials, and water systems. These founders have strong IP, real traction at home, and genuine U.S. ambitions. What they consistently lack is the ability to translate that credibility into Bay Area market traction, investor relationships, and commercial partnerships.
This event is designed to help close that gap, not through introductions alone, but through a structured conversation between people who each hold a different piece of the problem.
The conversation will also explore how climate tech intersects with AI, digital MRV, trust infrastructure, regenerative finance, and Ethereum-based infrastructure as tools for verification, coordination, and deployment across the U.S. and Europe.
The Agenda
We run a morning of four connected sessions:
9:30 AM — Meet & Greet Hosted arrivals, curated introductions, and light refreshments.
10:00 AM — Priority Trends and Deployment Gaps A sharp articulation of the most important clean-energy transition trends the Bay Area is helping shape; where European hardware companies align with those opportunities; and the recurring patterns of how they lose traction in the U.S. market. The discussion will also touch on AI for energy and infrastructure, digital MRV, trust infrastructure for climate assets, and, secondarily, how Ethereum-based coordination and real-world asset frameworks may support more legible and financeable climate deployment.
10:20 AM — Co-Creation Session A working session with international founders, Bay Area operators, investors, and ecosystem builders to design real pathways to partnerships, pilot opportunities, and capital.
11:15 AM — Synthesis Panel A conversation that names what collaboration between European deep tech and Bay Area scale actually requires — from capital stacks and adoption design to trust, market legibility, exploration of decentralized coordination, and ecosystem support — and who is willing to put something in to make it real. Audience questions and perspectives included.
11:30 AM — Networking Structured introductions followed by open networking.
Speakers
Matt Rappaport — General Partner, Future Frontier Capital / Co-Founder, Berkeley Gateway Accelerator. IP strategy, capital stack, and deep tech market entry.
Nathalie Moral — Founding Partner, Vitamin°C Fund (Zurich / San Francisco) shaping climate mitigation and human adaptation. Pioneer of impact investing; works at the intersection of founders, investors, philantropy
Peter Coughlan — Co-Founder, Hasten Regeneration / Former Partner, IDEO. Adoption and deployment design: what happens after the technology is validated.
Kirthika Padmanabhan — Investment Partner, Climate Capital / Former X (Alphabet). Early-stage climate tech investing across circular economy and blue economy verticals.
Hosted by
Gaia Montelatici — Culture fluency and Bay Area market legibility for international founders. Head of Cleantech Program, INNOVIT SF. Moderator.
Joanne Fedeyko — Pathways to Silicon Valley. Canadian deep tech founder pipeline and Bay Area ecosystem access.
Tanya Montmean — Event production and Climate Week SF ecosystem activation.

Who this is for
This event is open to all and free to register. It is relevant for:
— Bay Area investors, operators, and ecosystem builders active in climate tech, energy, advanced manufacturing, climate data, and related infrastructure who want direct access to European and international deep tech deal flow and perspectives
— European and international founders navigating U.S. market entry, especially in energy hardware, grid tech, industrial decarbonization, circular economy, water systems, and adjacent climate infrastructure
— Corporate innovators, accelerators, and program managers building bridges between international deep tech and U.S. commercial deployment
— People interested in the intersection of climate tech, AI, trust infrastructure, and regenerative finance as part of the next deployment stack
— Anyone who believes the deployment gap is the real problem and wants to be in the room where that conversation is happening honestly
— People exploring how Ethereum, decentralized coordination, and real-world asset infrastructure may support climate deployment, transparent markets, and cross-border collaboration
Context
This is Day 2 of a two-day format. Day 1 (April 20) is a closed speed-mentoring session for pre-selected founders at Berkeley Gateway Accelerator. The Day 2 conversation draws directly on what happened there — which is what makes it substantive rather than generic.
Co-organized by Joanne Fedeyko (Pathways to Silicon Valley), Gaia Montelatici, and Tanya Montmean in partnership with Frontier Tower and Berkeley Gateway Accelerator during Climate Week SF 2026.
This event is hosted at the Frontier Tower:
We are transforming a 16-floor tower in San Francisco into a self-governed vertical village—a hub for frontier technologies and creative arts. Tier-one labs presenting AI, Ethereum, biotech, neuroscience, longevity, robotics, makerspace, human flourishing, and arts & music. These floors will house innovators and creators pushing the boundaries of human potential in a post-AI-singularity world.
