About Event

This happy hour panel explores the complex relationship between brand messaging, consumer expectations, and the real responsibility of our industry.

We'll examine critical questions: Are we genuinely addressing customer concerns about sustainability, or simply checking boxes with greenwashed campaigns? Do consumers care enough to change their purchasing behaviour - or are sustainable claims more about brand image than real impact? and most importantly, are we marketers and advertisers ready to take accountability for the role we play in shaping demand, consumption and cultural priorities?

Light beverages and snacks provided.

Panelist: Sarah Roberton | SVP Corporate & Public Affairs, Environics Research

Sarah uses research for good, helping clients develop policies, programs, strategy and communications that resonate with their audiences and make a real difference. As the lead for Environics’ energy-environment practice, Sarah is one of the most knowledgeable research practitioners in the Canadian energy and climate change space. Her clients rely on her research insights to ensure public and stakeholder views are integrated into policy and decision-making.

Panelist: Caleigh Farrell | VP Research, Public

Caleigh Farrell is the VP of Research at Public, a creative impact agency and consultancy helping companies and nonprofits grow through good. An anthropologist and expert in conscious consumerism, she dives deep into the factors that drive (and hinder) values-based purchasing and how businesses should navigate social and environmental issues. She led The State of the Conscious Consumer Report, shaping the conversation around ethical commerce. When she’s not analyzing trends, Caleigh is a mom of two and dreams of writing her own novel.

Moderator: Jocelyn Butler | CEO & Media Director, Orchestra Marketing

Jocelyn’s entry into the digital and experiential marketing space dates back to the same year Facebook launched their Events platform. Since creating Orchestra Marketing in 2012, she has had a front-row seat to all digital marketing innovations. Jocelyn has been at the helm of major campaigns, overseeing business and channel strategy, as well as paid and organic social, email data management and more for national and international brands across four continents.

As an agency leader, Jocelyn advises educated adoption of new tools, technologies and protocols that benefit her clients.
