Park(ing) Day in San Jose
On Friday, September 19, Transform will host a Park(ing) Day Parklet Pop-Up in Downtown San Jose’s Historic District outside of Mezcal Restaurant. This global day of action transforms stagnant streetspace into vibrant public spaces. Join us for hands-on art and model-building activities, trivia wheel with prizes, commuter treats, and family-friendly fun to spark imaginations about what our streets could look like if we prioritized people and vibrant communities over car storage.
Transform Your Block: Create your dream community with bus shelters, housing, trees, bike racks, and more. Make your mark on a family-friendly art visioning project.
Transportation Trivia: Win prizes and giveaways from local businesses by flexing your knowledge.
Commuter Fuel-Up Station: Enjoy food from Mezcal Restaurant and commuter-friendly snacks.
Come “Transform Your Block” and learn about how SPOT SJ, a project of Transform, is helping San Jose unlock the power of underused parking to make room for housing, plazas, bike lanes, and transit improvements. We will also be celebrating the launch of our local business toolkit that aims to help local businesses attract customers without having to rely on additional curbside parking.
