WORKSHOP: Produce Your Own Seaweed Yarn - Intro into wet spinning
Dec 9th, 16.00 - 18.00

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to create fiber from seaweed using an open-source wet-spinning machine. No prior experience is required, just curiosity and creativity.

Participants will:

• Learn the basics of alginate-based fiber production

• Mix their own alginate spinning solution

• Spin fibers using syringes and the wet biofiber spinner

• Experiment with colors and additives to customize their yarn

Participants are welcome to bring their own colorants or filler materials. The finer the additive, the better the results!

Instructor: Juni Sun Neyenhuys
Language: English

The events are completely FREE, open to everybody, and no prior experience is needed!
