Imagination Mile: Art + Tech Community Gathering
Imagination Mile is an emerging community effort to activate a living stretch of San Francisco along the Columbus corridor through art, technology, culture, and neighborhood participation. Imagination Mile starts at the Transamerica Pyramid and extends to the Cannery.

At our first gathering, a strong theme emerged: people are looking for more than events. They are looking for identity, energy, and recurring experiences that make the city feel alive again. Out of that conversation, the name Imagination Mile resonated as a shared vision for a corridor where art, technology, and San Francisco’s cultural history can be experienced together, openly and regularly.
This next meeting is about moving from ideas into action.
We will gather artists, founders, technologists, educators, local businesses, community voices, and cultural organizers to help shape the next phase of Imagination Mile. The focus is on building momentum through simple, repeatable public rituals rather than overdesigning a master plan.
Topics we expect to explore include:
defining the early identity and story of Imagination Mile
selecting 1 to 2 recurring rituals to launch first
exploring public activations across the corridor
discussing artist participation and sustainable support
identifying collaborators, venues, and community partners
inviting more voices into the process
shaping concepts such as pop-ups, public art, founder-artist connections, youth engagement, and The Crab Walk as a recurring activation within Imagination Mile
This is an open working session for people who want to help imagine and build something meaningful for San Francisco.
Come if you want to contribute ideas, help shape the next ritual, connect others into the effort, or simply learn more about the vision.
Who Should Attend
Artists, founders, technologists, architects, educators, students, curators, neighborhood leaders, local business owners, cultural organizers, civic thinkers, and anyone interested in the future of San Francisco street life and community culture.
Why Attend
Because San Francisco does not need another static concept. It needs living experiences that bring people together. Imagination Mile is about creating those experiences, one ritual at a time.
