Join us for an Climate Tech Cities - New York night focused on the intersection of Health and Climate, in partnership with CVT.

In climate, health, and infrastructure, decisions have always come down to economics, not just what is technically possible, but what can actually be afforded, built, and maintained over time. That reality has quietly killed off a lot of good ideas, even the ones that seemed obvious in hindsight, because founders who could see things like air quality data predicting asthma admissions by zip code still could not afford the engineering teams needed to build it, and institutions holding years of valuable data often could not justify the cost of turning it into something usable. The use case might have been clear, but the numbers behind it simply did not work.

The cost and effort of building software have shifted, and a whole category of previously unfeasible ideas is now within reach. But getting from prototype to something that holds up in the field is not straightforward.

These domains demand outputs that are auditable, traceable, and defensible when a regulator, a patient, or a community asks why. The opportunity is real. So is the gap between what is possible to build and what these domains actually require.

So what does this shift mean for those ready to build? For founders, operators, builders, and business owners, knowing what to build, when it is ready, how to get it there, and who should build it is the work.

This session brings together climate and health founders, operators, and builders for a focused panel and an honest conversation about what has changed, where the real opportunities are, and what it takes to ship something consequential here. Speakers will include operators and founders who have navigated this build process firsthand in climate and health.

Food and drinks will be provided. Hosted at SOSV NY.

CVT

CVT is a product venture studio that turns founder-level ideas into market-ready software. Since 2020, we've taken companies from napkin concept to scalable product — including work for IKEA, Caterpillar, and Samsung — typically with an initial investment under $100K. We partner with operators who know their industry and are ready to build something real.

Climate Tech Cities

Climate Tech Cities is the largest place-based climate tech community in the world. We bring together entrepreneurs, activists, scientists, investors, and policymakers in cities across the globe to take climate action in their streets and neighborhoods. We send weekly newsletters and host topical panels, happy hours, site visits to infrastructure projects, and more. Since 2021, we have welcomed newcomers and old hands in climate to work on, share, and grow as we build solutions towards a decarbonized future. Join your local chapter today!
