AI Leadership Roundtable: AI Risks & Governance with Howie Xu (Chief AI & Innovation Officer @ GEN)
Every enterprise wants to move fast with AI. Few have figured out the guardrails.
The result? Shadow AI usage, unvetted tools touching sensitive data, and governance policies written after the damage is done.
Howie Xu has spent his career at the intersection of AI and security. As Chief AI & Innovation Officer at Gen (Fortune 500, ~$5B revenue, 500M users), he's building AI-native products at scale. Before Gen, he served as SVP of Engineering and AI/ML at Palo Alto Networks, VP of AI/ML at Zscaler, and CEO/Co-founder of TrustPath. He's also a US and international patent holder in AI, machine learning, and cybersecurity, a Stanford Lecturer, and host of Byte Into Future on NYSE. His career includes founding VMware Networking and serving as EIR at Greylock Partners.
Few leaders have Howie's depth across both building AI systems and securing them.
In this invite-only fireside chat, Howie will share:
• Why most AI governance frameworks are reactive and how to build proactive ones • Shadow AI: the risks enterprises don't see until it's too late • What cybersecurity teaches us about scaling AI safely • Governance as an enabler: how the right framework actually accelerates adoption • What boards and regulators are starting to expect from AI leaders
This is a small-group conversation, not a webinar. Come ready to share, ask questions, and compare notes with fellow AI leaders.
