Join Climate Finance Solutions for a 45-minute briefing designed to help teams assess eligibility and competitiveness and make informed go / no-go and positioning decisions for the California Energy Commission’s deployment-focused Industrial Decarbonization and Improvement of Grid Operations (INDIGO) program.

This is not a program overview. The session is structured around how INDIGO applications are actually screened and scored, and what distinguishes competitive deployment projects.

📊 Program Snapshot

  • Deadline: February 23, 2026

  • Awards: $4–8M per project (25% match required)

  • Deployment: Operating industrial facility in California

  • Technology: Either TRL 6+ or commercially proven, but not widely deployed in Calif.

  • Eligible teams: technology providers, industrial facilities, utilities, OEMs, EPCs, developers, and aggregators

🎯 What INDIGO Prioritizes

INDIGO supports deployable, grid-relevant industrial decarbonization projects with demonstrated performance data, including:

  • Process heat electrification

  • Non-thermal separation

  • Alternative processes, materials, and feedstocks

  • Advanced energy efficiency and process integration

  • Load flexibility, storage (including thermal), and operational improvements

  • Industrial carbon capture and utilization applications (utilization required)

Competitive projects clearly demonstrate deployment readiness, measurable GHG reductions, and grid value.

🔍 What You’ll Gain from the Session

  • How INDIGO proposals are evaluated in practice

  • How to prioritize the elements that matter most in INDIGO scoring

  • Key expectations around deployment readiness, match funding, and M&V

  • How strong teams structure scope, metrics, and partnerships

👥 Who Should Attend

  • Technology providers ready to deploy at industrial sites

  • Industrial facility owners/operators seeking support with tech deployment

  • Utilities, OEMs, EPCs, developers, and energy service providers

This session is not intended for early-stage R&D or pre-deployment concepts.

📌 All registrants will receive the recording and slides. The live session will include an open Q&A session where you can get direct answers from CFS experts. We will also outline how teams can request a short post-session eligibility and competitiveness review with CFS.
