About Event

Attention Scoutmasters and Troop Leaders,

The Maryland Blockchain Association is proud to invite your Scouts to a premier educational event this summer: the Maryland BlockchAIn Bootcamp & Workforce Expo.

Held from July 13 to July 17, 2026, at Capitol Technology University, this five-day intensive is designed to prepare the next generation for the future of technology, specifically in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, and Cybersecurity.

A Unique Merit Badge Opportunity

This year, we have aligned our workshops and guest speakers to help your Scouts fulfill requirements for several high-demand Merit Badges. By attending the bootcamp, Scouts can work toward:

  • Artificial Intelligence (New for 2026): Meet the "Career Exploration" requirements by interviewing industry leaders and see "Agentic AI" in action.

  • Cybersecurity: Learn about decentralized security and encryption—the backbone of blockchain technology.

  • Programming: Gain hands-on experience with coding logic used in smart contracts and machine learning.

  • Digital Technology: Explore the history and future of digitization with experts from the Maryland Attorney General’s Working Group.

  • Citizenship in the World: Engage with our visiting international delegations, including the Embassy of Estonia, to learn about global trade and digital diplomacy.

Complimentary Access for Scouts

We believe that leadership and technical literacy should be accessible to all. In support of local Scouting, we are offering complimentary 5-day tickets to active Boy Scouts and their troop leaders.

Event Highlights for Troops:

  • Hands-on Workshops: Practical sessions on building and securing digital assets.

  • Hackathon Showcase: Watch or participate in live problem-solving challenges.

  • Mentorship: Direct access to tech founders, state officials, and cybersecurity experts.

  • Sister City Engagement: Learn about Maryland’s global partnerships and international cooperation.

How to Register

To secure your troop’s complimentary passes, please register with your Troop Number and the number of Scouts/Leaders attending. We will provide a dedicated registration code for your group.
