Darn It! Sweater Repair Workshop with Salvage Studio SF

​In this hands-on 2 hour workshop, participants will learn how to repair holes in sweaters through woven darning. We will learn how to repair a ladder run, how to source yarn from your sweater for an exact color match, and practice both visible and invisible techniques on a sampler.  Participants are encouraged to bring their own sweaters needing repair and we will apply the techniques to fix them during the class. All materials will be provided to use during class.

​(Optional) Darning kits will be available for purchase ($15 cash) after class to take home and include a long darning needle, snips, knit picker, and a snag-nab-it.

​​*as sweater holes are sometimes caused by moths, please ensure your garment is freshly steamed, laundered, or dry cleaned before bringing them to class. 

​​About your host: ​Audrey is the owner of Salvage Studio SF, a clothing repair service and specialist helping keep beloved clothes in circulation and out of the landfill. She has mended over 2500+ jeans, sweaters, outdoor gear and beloved pieces.

​​About the venue: The Nook was started earlier this year by seven friends as a communal living room and creative corner.
