Low-Cost Air Purifier Innovation Workshop
Under Climate Innovation Week, Climate Cadets Collective is organizing a large scale, participatory workshop focused on the design, assembly, and use of low cost air purifiers.
The workshop will bring together students, youth leaders, educators, and community members to co create practical solutions to air pollution. The technical model for the air purifier is developed by FiltAir, an initiative working at the intersection of public health, education, and environmental justice. The purifier uses a dual filtration system, consisting of:
A pre filter to capture dust and larger particles, extending filter life.
A HEPA filter to trap fine particulate matter such as PM2.5.
An integrated exhaust fan to draw polluted air through the system efficiently.
Participants will be guided step by step to assemble the purifier, understand its working principles, and learn how to maintain and replicate it independently.
