Let’s Test Drive the New Figma MCP
🛜 THIS IS A VIRTUAL EVENT
Figma just announced that agents can now write directly to the Figma canvas.
That means tools like Claude Code, Codex, and other agents can now create and edit real Figma assets — with awareness of your existing design systems. Figma is also introducing Skills, a new way to guide how agents work on the canvas using simple text instructions.
For this session, we’ll do a live walkthrough of what’s new and pressure-test what it actually changes.
We’ll cover:
what Figma is actually enabling now with the MCP server
what it means for agents to write to the canvas
how Skills might shape repeatable workflows for teams
where this gets exciting for design systems
where it still feels rough, constrained, or overhyped
I’ll also talk through what this could mean for the future of design work:
does work start in code, in Figma, or with an agent?
what becomes faster now?
what still needs real design judgment?
how should designers adapt when the canvas is no longer human-only?
This won’t be a polished “AI changes everything” talk.
It’ll be a practical working session for designers trying to understand what’s real, what’s useful, and what’s changing next.
Come curious. Come skeptical.
