About Event

In The Loop 008

In The Loop is an event series for engineers and builders pushing on what's possible with agentic coding. We share a constant curiosity about what these tools can do, and what they'll do next. If you're looking for a tribe to trade field notes in a no-frills environment, you've found it.

This session we'll be joined by 2-3 founding engineers for a group discussion on how they've integrated agentic coding into their daily workflows. Come share how you work today, explore ways to level up your own workflow, and map out what you're going to try next.

Who's presenting

Matt Casey, Software Engineer at Antimetal, an AI system that helps engineering teams understand, diagnose, and improve production systems by reasoning across logs, metrics, alerts, code, and past incidents. He was previously a founding engineer at Stainless, which was acquired by Anthropic, and holds a B.S. in Operations Research from Columbia University. Matt writes research pieces for Antimetal on representing software systems for machine reasoning and the infrastructure context coding agents need.

Dmitri Mirakyan, Co-founder at Creed, an a16z Speedrun-backed company in AI media and the creator economy. He previously bootstrapped yourmove.ai, a consumer AI product, to 1M+ users, and led consumer data science at Opendoor. He's based in NYC and studied at the University of Texas at Austin.

Colin Murphy, a founding engineer who built the full technical stack of a healthcare AI startup, HealthyMe AI. A Drexel University grad based in the NYC metro area, he's been writing and speaking about the practical edges of agentic development — from MCP versus agent skills to using agents for retrieval, not just generation.

About Your Hosts

Abrey Mann, Software Engineer in AI at Ode with Anthropic, which brings frontier AI into practice at medium through enterprise-sized businesses. Before that, he was a founding engineer across a series of NYC startups. Having built at both ends — scrappy startups and enterprise AI deployments — he's excited to help grow NYC's agentic coding community from the ground up.

Kevin Huynh, an ops leader building apps. Previously, he was VP of Operations at Substack and wrote Get Together for Stripe Press—a book on how to build a community with your people. Today, he splits time between launching an iOS app studio for habit tracking games and creating respectful chaos with his toddler in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

What We'll Cover

The presenters will walk through how they've actually integrated agentic coding into their daily workflows—not a scripted demo, but a real conversation about what's working, what isn't, and where they're still figuring things out. Expect a group discussion format: plenty of room to ask questions, trade notes, and dig into the details that matter to your own workflow, alongside a room full of other engineers building with these same tools.

Schedule

  • 9:30 AM - Doors open (coffee & pastries)

  • 10:00 AM - Workshop begins (demo, and discussion groups)

  • 11:20 AM - Workshop wrap

Whether you're skeptical, curious, or already knee-deep in Claude/Cursor/Copilot, come learn alongside other founding engineers navigating this shift together. You'll leave with practical skills, new perspectives, and connections with other founding engineers facing similar challenges.

This is one of a recurring series of technical workshops. As the landscape continues to evolve rapidly, we'll keep convening to learn together and stay ahead of what's next.
