About Event

Obvious is an applied AI research lab. We spend our days closing the gap between what's possible and what's doable, treating our own company as the experiment for what it means to operate at agent scale. We've reinvented our product, reshaped our team, accelerated revenue, and 10x'd our shipping velocity in less than a year.

Frontier is where we hand that system to other teams.

Think about how your week actually breaks down. There's busy work, the carrying of water. There's collaborative work, the discussions and artifacts. There's deep work, the prototyping and thinking that only you can do. And then there's a fourth mode most teams haven't built yet: a factory running work in the background while you do the other three.

Frontier is one day of building that fourth mode inside your own codebase.

How the day works

You'll have a factory running within the first hour. You point agents at real work, a bug backlog, an improvement you've been putting off, a spec for something bigger, and it starts producing while the day is still young. PRs land during lunch from work you kicked off that morning.

The rest of the day is spent making it better. We teach eight mechanisms for improving a factory, covering specs, QA, review, skills, loops, design systems, CI, and context. Each one gets a short setup and then thirty minutes of hands-on practice against your repo, with recommendations generated from your actual code rather than generic advice. By late afternoon you're running the full cycle yourself: kick off work, review what comes back, spot the problem, fix the mechanism behind it, run it again and watch the output improve.

What you leave with

  • A factory that runs on your codebase, tuned by you, with merged PRs to prove it

  • The ability to look at bad agent output and know which control to reach for, which is the skill that keeps paying after the day ends

  • A named list of co-managers inside your company, including a technique for turning your loudest skeptic into a reviewer with skin in the game

  • A four-week plan that takes you from a working factory to a factory that's simply how work flows through your team

Who it's for

Teams with at least one technical member who can build alongside us. A non-technical CEO is welcome with a CTO or technical co-founder.

What to bring

Your laptop and access to a real codebase you care about. A bug backlog or a list of small improvements you've been meaning to make is ideal fuel for the morning. No pre-work beyond signing up and following the onboarding steps in advance.

Meals and snacks are provided.
