NL House: Moral Ambition - Redefine Success
The world doesn’t lack awareness. It lacks people willing to act on what they already know.
In this session, designer Harald Dunnink shares the turning points that led him and historian Rutger Bregman to co-found The School for Moral Ambition, a global movement now spanning 25,000 members across 150+ countries and fellowship programs at institutions including Harvard.
Moral ambition is not a theory, but something you can build by shaping how ideas take form, how people find each other, and how movements grow. A call to redefine success from personal gain to collective progress, and to redesign what we already know is broken.

About the speakers
Harald Dunnink is a designer and serial co-founder whose work centres on moral ambition and design for belonging. He founded Momkai, the leading Dutch design firm for people who give a damn, co-founded De Correspondent with its mission of unbreaking news, now one of the world’s largest member-funded journalism platforms, and most recently launched The School for Moral Ambition with historian and New York Times bestselling author Rutger Bregman.
Dunnink works from his design philosophy of cultivating calm so the movements and ideas that deserve the spotlight can thrive. In his talks, audiences discover how design can build trust and momentum; lessons drawn from world-record crowdfunding campaigns and global launches. Radically hopeful, Harald argues that the real challenge of our time is making a good life and a good conscience the same path.
Suzanne Visser is Chairwoman of Dutch Digital Design and an independent business developer working at the intersection of creative agencies, cultural institutions and international markets. She has moderated and produced Dutch showcases at SXSW for several years running.

The School for Moral Ambition is built on a simple but uncomfortable premise — that the world doesn't lack ambitious people, it lacks ambitious people working on the right things. The School exists to help talented professionals redirect their careers toward solving the world's most pressing problems, from climate change to AI risk.
Dutch Digital Design is the organisation championing the Netherlands' world-class digital creative industry. It brings together the country's leading agencies, studios, and brands. urating and showcasing exceptional work, connecting talent, and building a stronger design community at home and on the international stage. Artists and technologists with projects that refuse to fit neatly into a single discipline. Explore the NL Lounge, where ten Dutch startups will showcase their technological creativity.
