🎤 Speakers:
Nicola McConville (Partner, Mishcon de Reya)
Nicola is a Partner in the Corporate Department with particular experience in advising companies and investors on funding rounds from seed through to exit. Nicola frequently works with spin outs and start ups from universities and research institutions embracing the ambition, energy and drive of the entrepreneurs behind these companies and the foresight and vision of those investors who support them. After supporting them through the technology transfer process, which can often differ significantly between institutions, Nicola continues to work closely with founder and management teams throughout their corporate journey, often joining board meetings to provide salient governance and legal advice.
Benny Axt (Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Oxford Science Enterprises)
With 15+ years of experience building and scaling healthcare businesses across 6 continents, Benny brings expertise in strategy, operations, and corporate development to the HealthTech team at Oxford Science Enterprises (OSE). Before joining OSE, Benny held leadership and advisory roles at Dialogue Health Technologies Inc., DaVita (NYSE: DVA), and several early-stage digital health companies. He’s supported previous university spinouts and guided ventures through US and UK market entrance, global growth, IPO, and acquisition. At OSE, Benny is actively exploring opportunities in oncology, mental health, and chronic disease management. He is seeking academic co-founder(s) to collaboratively launch the next health tech spinout from the University of Oxford.
