Grid Flexibility: "The Innovation Exists. Now Let’s Scale It." with National Grid and AVEVA
Senior, 20-person roundtable hosted by National Grid and AVEVA, in partnership with REA and CLG UK.
The Innovation Exists. Now Let’s Scale It.
Co-chaired by Claire Lund (CSO, National Grid) and Sophie Miremadi (VP, AVEVA)
Demand for power is rising fast. Electrification, new manufacturing and data centres all need grid capacity, and they need it now. New infrastructure is only part of the answer. The rest comes from flexibility: getting far more out of the networks we already have.
We already have the tools. Flexible connections, demand response, storage, AI, digital twins and real-time data have all worked in trials. The hard part now is scale.
This session brings together senior leaders from energy, technology, infrastructure and finance to agree what it takes to roll grid flexibility out across the whole system, and who needs to work together to make that happen.
We’ll cover:
What’s really holding us back: regulation, procurement, business models, data sharing, skills. Which of these matter most, and which can we fix first?
Partnerships that deliver: how utilities, tech providers, investors and government can share risk, data and reward so projects get deployed faster
A path to scale: a single action the group can take forward
This session will also be building on Building Grids Together: Planning for Transformational Growth and UNEZA Senior Roundtable on Supply Chain Alignment For Grids.
It will feed into Data Centre Roundtable #2 with AVEVA and Jones Day: Data Centres as Grid Assets.
