βWhat kinds of walking futures emerge when we tune into the sensorial, emotional, and more-than-human dimensions of urban movement?
βAnd how might we transform what we sense into imaginative tools, interventions, and scenarios that make walking more equitable, accessible, and joyful?
βMuddy Imaginaries is a co-creation and co-imagination workshop exploring pluriversal visions of walking futures and urban accessibility. Designed as a practice to slow down, observe, and imagine otherwise, the workshop invites participants to rethink how we inhabit and move through our cities.
βWe will begin with a guided sensorial walk through the neighbourhood, using interactive mapping methods to attune to how our environments shape movement, feeling, and belonging.
βFrom observation, we will shift into creation - working with natural pigments and coffee-ground clay, we will craft small objects and sculptural forms that embody their imagined what-if futures.
βGuided by a custom Wonder-kit, we will engage in exercises and games that unlock imagination and introduce playful approaches to urban challenges. Each physical creation will then be 3D-scanned to produce a collaborative digital (re)map, bridging tangible making with virtual world-building.
βAs a first workshop test within the SOIF Next-Gen Fellowship, Muddy Imaginaries is rooted in thinking-through-making, collective knowledge exchange, and practicing speculative imagination as a tool for desirable urban change.
βWhether you're a designer, urbanist, artist, or simply someone curious about the future of our cities, this workshop offers a space to imagine otherwise. Come connect with fellow imagineers, and build a community of future thinkers, designers, researchers, and wanderers.
