Builders Night: From Cloud-based Software to Self-sovereign Applications
After the ICP Global R&D Watch & Network, we’re staying in Ghent for an evening deep-dive into the future of applications beyond the cloud.
We’re welcoming Prof. Tom Van Cutsem (KU Leuven, DistriNet) as our keynote speaker for a special Builders Night on self-sovereign applications and what comes after today’s cloud-centric architecture.
Tom is an associate professor of computer science at KU Leuven with research spanning distributed systems, software security and blockchain within the DistriNet research group, and a research advisor at Nokia Bell Labs.
His new research project SODISA looks at Scalable Software Development and Infrastructure for Self-sovereign Applications—software where users and communities, rather than a single cloud provider, govern state and logic.
This evening connects that research perspective with builders, founders, and curious technologists in our local community.
