Defending our Democracy through AI
Just a few years ago it was almost unthinkable that Europe would be even remotely close to a military conflict. Europeans were trying to adapt to COVID, and it was beyond anyone's contemplation that VC funds would openly start investing in defense and military tech.
But as tens of millions of Ukrainians have tragically and painfully found out, the unthinkable can become a horrible reality in a blink of an eye. It is therefore doubly important that we all get informed and up to speed as quickly as possible.
Stockholm AI together with Codon Consulting is therefore bringing you one of the most important AI events of the year - "Defending our Democracy through AI". We are going to listen to a number of keynotes, followed by a fireside chat.
Exploring decision advantages: Prototyping for Next Gen Decision-Making
Peter Bovet Emanuel (Lieutenant Colonel, PhD), FHS (Swedish Defence University)
What happens if we design systems that actively challenge, sharpen, and strengthen human thinking? Drawing on experiments from a military context, Peter Bovet Emanuel explains how AI can become an actor in complex decision-making—not just a tool. The talk is aimed at entrepreneurs who want to create the next generation of AI solutions where humans and machines collaborate to achieve real decision advantages in high-risk environments.
Creating realistic flight simulator environments from geo-spatial data
Olov Ericsson & Max Pihlström, Data Scientists, Metrea
We will present how Metrea Simulations processes large-scale geospatial data for our flight simulator used for fighter pilot training, applying machine learning alongside statistical and heuristic methods. The focus is on transforming spatial datasets to create realistic simulation environments.
Precision and Scale: How AI Shapes the Battlefield Across All Domains
Gustaf von Grothusen & Love Broman, Polar Mist
The war in Ukraine continues to define modern warfare. Low-cost electronics combined with AI enable a completely new level of capable combat power across every domain. We will discuss the ideas behind our work and how we are contributing to strengthening NATO’s northern flank.
The Panel / Fireside Chat
The keynotes will be followed by a panel, which will be moderated by Ali Leylani, Chief AI Office at ECHO ALPHA and Chair of the Board at Stockholm AI.
The event will take place at The Park Forskaren in Hagastaden, with mingle starting at 17.30 and first keynotes starting at 18.00. Food and beverage will be served.
