The Forest Remembers
Join us at The Bowery Poetry Club on Tue August 25 for The Forest Remembers, an evening of music, poetry, and film celebrating afro-Caribbean heritage, memory, and land legacies. The event features renowned artist and cultural ambassador Taj Weekes, a preview of a short film, Fairweather Wilds, and other inspiring works exploring land lineages.

About the Campaign
Through Fairweather Wilds and events engaging wide and diaspora audiences, we will activate memory and promote community stewardship legacies. All funds raised will support completion of the film and our community engagement campaign, including an eco-music soundscape with nature sounds recorded in the Belize Maya Forest—a critical habitat for wildlife and carbon sequestration, spanning an estimated 37,000 to 50,000 acres.
Centuries of colonial timber extraction degraded not only Belizean forests, but the cultural heritage held within them. Your support affirms the vital role of culture and our narratives in creating sustainable futures.
