Embedded Swift: From Code to Hardware
Embedded Swift: From Code to Hardware
Join us for a hands-on Embedded Swift workshop where we explore how Swift can go beyond app development and interact with real hardware.
In this session, participants will learn the basics of Embedded Swift and build small projects using a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W along with sensors and actuators.
Date & Time
Saturday, 24 October 2026
9:30 AM – 1:00 PM
What we’ll cover
Introduction to Embedded Swift
Setting up the Embedded Swift development environment on macOS
Understanding GPIO and hardware interaction
Controlling an LED
Reading input from an LDR/light sensor
Working with an ultrasonic distance sensor
Controlling a servo motor
Using a buzzer
Combining multiple components into a small final project
Building and running Embedded Swift code on Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W
Who can join?
This workshop is suitable for:
Swift and iOS developers curious about embedded systems
Developers interested in hardware and IoT
Students and makers who want to experiment with Swift on microcontrollers
Anyone interested in exploring Swift beyond Apple-platform apps
Basic programming knowledge is sufficient. Prior embedded-systems experience is not required.
What to bring
Please bring:
A MacBook
USB cable for connecting the Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W
Swift/toolchain setup as shared before the workshop
Hardware for the hands-on exercises will be used during the session.
Format
This is a hands-on workshop, not just a presentation. Participants will write code, connect hardware, compile projects, and test them directly on the Raspberry Pi Pico.
Seats are limited to 20 participants so that we can keep the session interactive and provide hands-on support.
Organized by SwiftBengaluru.
