About Event

Back by popular demand—join us for the second annual New Climate Ventures Afterparty, a can't-miss evening of informal mingling during Houston Energy + Climate Startup Week.

Many thanks to our generous sponsors, including lead sponsor JP Morgan Chase; H&C Search; Fluor Corporation; Goodwin; and Energy Tech Nexus (which is hosting its Pilotathon earlier that day).

We're taking it outdoors this year for an open-air night of drinks, music, and unfiltered connection at Axelrad, a short walk from the Ion and Greentown Labs. (Don’t worry - there’s cover if it rains). We’ll walk over straight from Activate’s Meet the Cohort event (5-7pm at the Ion).

We’re also delighted to host + feature Houston-area startups (and a few visitors with Houston connections), scattered across the beer garden, including Quaise Energy, Solidec, Dimensional Energy, Rheom Materials, Cemvita , and Active Surfaces. Thanks also to our media partners, Heatmap News and Bloomberg New Energy Finance.

We’ve also got some goodies to raffle off and give away, including carbon-negative spirits from Revive Distilling; bike tools made from recycled carbon fiber from Vartega; t-shirts and hats from Air Company; legal consultation from Goodwin; vegan charcuterie from Renegade Foods; and surf wax made from captured carbon by Dimensional.

No panels. Just cold drinks and good vibes with the people building the future of energy + climate tech.

And a special charity auction: for the first time, Houston-based Rheom Materials is auctioning a one-of-a-kind LUCKYNELLY mini purse made from Shorai™, their biobased leather alternative, which retails for over $3,000. The bag was designed in Berlin by Christine Rochlitz, founder of LUCKYNELLY – BERLIN, whose luxury handbags have appeared in Vogue, ELLE, and the runways of New York, Paris, and Berlin Fashion Week. The auction will be held online during the party and all proceeds will go to Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.

Finally, thank you to the partners organizing HECSW: Greentown Labs, Houston Energy Transition Initiative, Rice Alliance, Activate, Halliburton Labs, The Ion, TEX-E, and Collide.
