Curious who's who and who's doing what in the battery industry? Join us for the second 🌐 Battery Cluster meetup hosted by The Battery Saloon at 9Zero. And guess what? This will happen EVERY month!
The first in a series of events focusing on battery fundamentals - from cell to pack and everything in between - “De-mystifying Battery Management Systems” will cover the basics of a BMS in an approachable way with an explanation of the basic technical concepts with zero jargon! Expect to learn about BMS architecture, common electronics and devices, algorithms, key program milestones etc. The content will be generic (no proprietary or novel tech will be shared) and you’ll gain the knowledge to help you get started developing a rock solid BMS, or at least enough to pretend you do!
This presentation will be geared for two main types of audience:
Battery industry leaders who need to understand the scope of a battery management system and the necessary tools, people, data and time required to develop one. If this is you, the goal is for you to walk away with an appreciation for the challenges of developing a good BMS and how to plan your programs with this in mind.
Technical contributors who are thinking about getting into BMS development and want to learn the fundamentals and what it takes to break into this exciting and growing space.
About Marcel:
Marcel is an accomplished engineering leader with a background in the design, validation and high volume manufacturing of complex networked electro-mechanical systems. He led Tesla’s cross-functional powertrain integration team that was responsible for feature development, software validation and release of Tesla’s core powertrain subsystems from early ModelS through Cybertruck and the Tesla Semi. In this role, he built a well-regarded and successful team that contributed to the exponential growth in production, while introducing new vehicle models and releasing new features. The team was considered a force multiplier by leadership and effectively blended the roles of system and feature designer with technical project management and validation.
He is currently focusing his efforts on supporting teams that are developing deep tech solutions to address the climate crisis. His experience at Tesla enables him to provide expert guidance on scaling software development, validation and release teams and processes. More specifically, he helps teams with energy system integration and developing battery management systems for systems of all sizes.
