Sweet, Sweet Connection: Live Reading Picnic & Garden Tour
Mangoes hang over Miami, brightening our smoothies, salsas, and cocktails. Whether you see them as simply a fragrant fruit or a cultural icon, it’s time we consider how mangoes connect us within urban landscapes.
Join Impact.Edition for a special outdoor gathering at The Kampong, Coconut Grove's historic botanical garden, where storytelling, community, and environmental stewardship come together beneath the shade of tropical trees.
We'll begin the morning with a guided tour of The Kampong, home to one of the most significant collections of tropical fruit trees in the United States.
As we stroll through the gardens, we'll learn about the site's fascinating history, remarkable plant diversity, and the role urban green spaces play in fostering resilience, biodiversity, and a deeper connection to nature.
Following the tour, guests are invited to gather beneath the trees for a live reading and community discussion of "Sweet, Sweet Connection," a story that explores Miami's unique relationship with mangoes and the people, cultures, and ecosystems they connect.
Bring a blanket, curiosity, and a love of good stories. We look forward to sharing a meaningful morning of learning, reflection, and connection with you.
