An AI x Design Morning
What to expect
We're bringing together 30 senior+ product designers to learn together by making real things.
8:30am – Doors open, get coffee, say hello
9:00am – Community demos
9:30am – Hands-on build time
11:00am – Live walkthroughs from special guests Raphaël Guilleminot & Robert van Klinken
12:00pm – Wrap up
Community demos (9am)
We'll kick off with AI inspiration from the community. No slides. No polish. Designers who've been building with AI connect their laptop and take a couple of minutes to walk through a project they've recently built with AI.
Build time (9:30am)
A low-pressure space to experiment with tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or whatever you've been curious to try. No prior AI experience required.
Not sure what to build or which tools to use? The group can help you figure it out. Laptops required - there are only participants here, not spectators.
We'll wrap with a quick show + tell demos: what you tried today, what worked, what didn't.
Live walkthroughs (11am)
Raphaël Guilleminot is a product designer and design leader with experience working at some of the biggest companies in the world including including Deliveroo, Facebook Reality Labs and Unity. He’ll share how he’s been exploring end-to-end design-to-code workflows while building a video app across web and iOS, focusing on design system compliance and fidelity. He’ll also cover his work with multiple parallel agents, what’s worked well, and what’s been a waste of time.
Robert van Klinken is a Lead Product Designer with experience building AI-driven products at DuckDuckGo. He’ll share how he’s building a lightweight private browser for iOS 26, from kicking off the design process in Claude to iterating on a live product. He’ll cover working with AI to explore ideas, implement features like tracker and ad blocking, set up tight feedback loops, and what it’s like using and refining the app day to day.
Why this exists
No one needs another podcast, LinkedIn post, or YouTube video about AI. You need the time and space to actually use the tools yourself, to feel first-hand what they're great at and where they fall apart, which is hard when your day-to-day is full of back-to-backs.
This morning is that space.
Building alongside peers adds a little accountability and a lot of momentum. You can try something, get stuck, ask for help, and share what you made. All in the same morning.
This isn't about reach or performance. It's about getting real about what's actually possible with these tools, and bringing a practical lens to how they fit into your daily work.
You're welcome to use the build time to experiment wildly, or build something for your actual job. If that helps convince your manager this is worth your Thursday morning, even better.
Who this is for
Seasoned product designers. Your title might include Lead, Staff, Manager, or Director. You have the altitude to see strategic opportunities across your organisation and understand how to drive outsized impact through your work. You just haven't had the space to apply that lens to AI yet.
Seniority doesn't matter once you're in the room. There's no hierarchy here. Everyone's a builder, everyone's experimenting, everyone's figuring it out.
This isn't a talk or a panel. It's a morning to get inspired by and build alongside people like you.
