About Event

The Center for Climate and Energy Solutions invites you to a lunch briefing on Tuesday, April 14th, focused on understanding the battery supply chain from mineral extraction through battery material production and cell fabrication.

While today, most of this supply chain is concentrated in Asia, the southeast United States is emerging as a hub for the domestic manufacture of batteries, components, and critical materials, helping position the country as a globally competitive player in the battery industry. With continued private and public sector support, this industry will bolster the energy, mobility, and defense sectors crucial to U.S. global economic competitiveness, grid reliability, and national security.

Continued work is needed to ensure these investments come to fruition, and to promote the development of complementary infrastructure and continue growing investment into minerals processing and refining, component production, and innovation. The event will feature expert presentations and panelists providing insights on how policy can support the build out of a secure, resilient, domestic end-to-end battery supply chain.

Panelists will include:

  • Malissa Gordon, Vice President, Government Affairs — Elevra Lithium

  • Michael Yang, Senior Manager, Government Affairs — LGChem

  • David Nenon, Supply Chain Manager, Battery Strategy — Ford Motor Company

Please RSVP to attend, lunch will be provided for attendees.
