​The Global Virtual GenJam
October 8 to 10

​The Austin AI Film Festival, Machine Cinema, and AITX are running a 48-hour GenJam the week before the festival. It is free and fully virtual, so you can take part from anywhere in the world. Seats are limited, so entry is by application, and we review portfolios to decide who gets in.

​The challenge
This year's festival theme is going deep into the craft. Your job is to remix it. Take the idea and make it your own in a short generative film, on whichever platform you choose. Here is our take on it, for reference: Instagram reel

​What you win
The winning films screen on the big screen at Zach Theater in Austin on Saturday, October 17, and the winners are recognized at the Austin AI Film Festival awards show that night. Each participant picks a sponsor track and competes for that track's prize. Tracks are revealed when the hackathon launches and include cash prizes and credits on the sponsoring platforms.
