Nairobi | Claude Code Workshop for Developers
βA mini-hackathon for shipping developers.
βFor non-devs we got you π link
βEvery dev has a thing that's quietly costing them an hour a day. The PR review they procrastinate on. The context they lose between projects. The commit messages they write badly and hate. The credit burn they can't account for. The focus that leaks into Slack before lunch.
βYou bring that thing. In three hours, with two or three other builders working adjacent to your stack, you build the tool that kills it β in Claude Code. A plugin, a skill, a sub-agent, a hook, an MCP server, a small dashboard. Something real, running on your own laptop, that you'll still be using Monday morning.
βThe evening
β5:00 β 5:30 Β· Opening. Peter walks through the Claude Code primitives that actually matter in production: the agentic loop, CLAUDE.md, Skills, MCP servers, hooks, sub-agents. Shared vocabulary for the room. Plus a quick look at what Peter and Billy have already built for themselves β an accountability dashboard, a focus tracker β as a launch pad, not a template.
β5:30 β 7:30 Β· Pair and build. You pair up, name the pain, pick the primitive, and ship it. Hosts circulate the whole time β prompting that holds up in a real codebase, when to reach for a Skill vs an MCP vs a sub-agent, hooks worth wiring, keeping spend reasonable, what to do when the model hallucinates an API.
β7:30 β 8:00 Β· Show-and-tell. Each pair shows what they built. What worked, what broke, what they're keeping. Then we close.
βWhat to bring
βA laptop with Claude Code installed and running before you arrive. A paid Claude plan (Pro works; Max or API if you have them). An account on platform.claude.com so we can send you an API token to use during the session β we'll be handing out credits for the evening. One productivity pain you're sick of. A codebase or project directory the pain actually lives in.
βWho this is for
βEngineers, technical founders, contractors, indie builders β anyone already shipping. Not technical? The Tuesday "Claude for Everyone" workshop is the one you want.
βAbout registration
βApproval is on. Room is sized for pairing. We read every registration. If you're actively building, you're in.
