Wildfire Resilience Workshop: Explore Resilience Investment Through Game-Based Learning
Event Description
The interactive wildfire workshop simulates real-world wildfire challenges with game-based learning. In the workshop, participants will collaborate and make resilience investment decisions to explore ways to mitigate and adapt to the growing wildfire risks.
In most cases, investment will be easy if we have unlimited resources and complete information. Unfortunately, most of our decisions will have trade-offs and complex uncertainties.
If we would love to mitigate the wildfire damages, what are the decision blind spots we should consider? And what are the climate actions we should first prioritize?
Join our workshop and shape our future with wildfire-resilience practices.
Recommended Audience
Aspiring Climate Fellows: Advance the knowledge for wildfire mitigation and adaptation
Social Climate Influencers: Promote wildfire knowledge and action to local communities.
Corporate Investment: Revisit the location vulnerability with mitigation and adaptation investment.
The workshop's main value will come from discussion and reflection. No climate background is required—just curiosity to explore more with others.
Expected Outcomes
✅ Understand the complexity and the trade-off for wildfire prevention
✅ Explore wildfire resilience investment strategy with various actions
✅ Strengthen cross-sector collaboration with workshop stakeholders
Trauma-Informed Practices
If you and/or your family members or friends have recently experienced a wildfire, please kindly self-evaluate your current condition for participation. During the workshop, if you feel uncomfortable, please notify the speaker and stop the engagement. If needed, we recommend seeking professional support.
