​Why is the topic relevant?

​Italy hasn't produced decent venture outcomes for 25 years (!). We think this is changing, and VCs should discuss the next big thing in Europe. Why? (1) Italy ranks #3 worldwide in net millionaires inflow, ahead of Switzerland and any EU country; (2) Pension Funds will be mandated to invest 1% in VC, this is €3b in the next 3 years; (3) 55% of Italian family business CEOs are 65+ years old (vs. 20% in France-Germany): the wealth-competence generational shift that happened elsewhere in the past 10 years will happen in Italy over the next 10; (4) Italy has the OECD 2nd worst brain drain for 20 years; since Covid the trend has started to reverse; (5) Italy is the largest recipient of EU Green Deal funding.
