Event Context

The Pacific Northwest Battery Collaborative (PNWBC) and 9Zero are bringing together the region’s energy leaders to unpack a historic shift in our grid.

For the first time in its 116-year history, Seattle City Light (SCL), the nation’s 10th largest public utility, will soon offer a Time of Use (TOU) rate to residential and small/medium business customers. This isn't just a billing change; it’s a catalyst for the local battery ecosystem. Read more here.

Why This Matters

As electricity prices begin to fluctuate based on the time of day, the value proposition for energy storage changes overnight. Join us to explore:

• The Commercial Landscape: Where are the new "arbitrage" opportunities for battery deployment?

• Grid Flexibility: How will SCL use Demand Response (DR) to balance a modern grid?

• The Roadmap: What does the 116-year-old utility's transition look like for residential and commercial users?
